design process
Whether you need only a few of the following services, or all of them, we will be delighted to hear from you and will do our very best to find a solution for you.
However straightforward or complex the design process might be, we will make every effort to understand you and your requirements for your new garden and try to keep the whole process as smooth and enjoyable as possible as we work together.

We offer a free initial meeting with follow up written brief and estimate, with no pressure.
1
first meeting
A conversation in your garden. An opportunity for us to meet in person, to familiarise ourselves with the space, discuss your ideas and offer some feedback. Lots of chat, notes made and photos taken.

Following this conversation you will receive a written brief accompanied by an estimate for the design work proposed, which may include some or all of the following.
2
survey
A detailed survey will be carried out either in-house if the garden is small or straightforward, otherwise by a professional surveyor. The result will be a topographical plan drawing; the base plan.
3
layout plan
We present you with a garden plan, together with a combination of supporting images, sketches, computer models, materials, mood board and more to help walk you through your new garden.
4
masterplan
Following presentation of the Layout Plan the Masterplan firms up all the details; it accommodates any changes agreed, incorporates all the chosen materials, and their layout, finalises the spaces, levels and planting areas.

This Masterplan forms the foundation of any detailed plans to follow.
5
design details / landscaping
We can produce construction detail drawings, lighting and irrigation plans, planting plans and schedules all to help communicate the necessary details of the project to the landscape contractors.
You can appoint your own preferred landscaper, or one of our recommended landscapers. We offer site visits throughout the landscaping process.
6
planting
Most garden projects involve the design and selection of the plants, usually presented by a planting plan and schedule. This leads to arguably the best part of the whole process for the customer, and probably for us too - seeing the plants arrive, brought into the garden and planted!
